A bicycle ride to benefit the YMCA of Alexander County
A benefit bicycle ride through the scenic country-side of Alexander County.
All proceeds from the 2012 Y-Ride will go towards the purchase and installation of new playground equipment for the YMCA of Alexander County.
The 2012 Y-Ride is scheduled for Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 9:00am.
The ride will start and finish at Rocky Face Recreation Park , located at 3451 Rocky Face Church Rd. Hiddenite, NC 28636.
There will be two ride options, a 50k (31 miles) loop and a 100k (62 miles) course. The 50k (31 miles) loop is designed for riders looking for a shorter scenic route. The 100k (62 miles) course is a bit more challenging, featuring one category 5 climb and has a total ascent of 1,922.57 ft and has a maximum elevation of 1,505.91 ft.
Support vehicles will be covering both routes.
There will be rest stops along the courses providing refreshments.
Y-Ride event T-Shirts will be provided to all riders registered on or before August 18.
