Emergency Preparedness/Bioterrorism Program

During the past several years, the Alexander County Health Department has worked with the local, state and national community to be prepared for any event that could threaten the health and well-being of the citizens of Alexander County.

Alexander County Health Department has developed, and continuously updates, a Strategic National Stockpile Response Plan, Pandemic Influenza Plan, and a Continuity of Operations Plan that all work in conjunction with the Alexander County All Hazards Plan. An Epidemiology Team also has been developed and trained to respond to any disease outbreak event.

The Emergency Preparedness Section works closely with other health agencies regionally and Statewide to plan and train for potential health emergencies.
