Our Mission statement is to improve the health and quality of life for Alexander County residents through partnerships focusing on education, public awareness, and community involvement.

Local Priority Issues:

Mental Health and Substance Abuse- Improve and prevent alcohol related crashes and deaths in Alexander County along with building prevention , capacity, infrastructure at state and community levels.

5 Year Objective: Increase the number of community partnerships to conduct comprehensive substance abuse prevention efforts by 2012.

10 Year Objective: Reduce the percentage of alcohol related crashes and fatalities in Alexander County by 2018.

Community Partners: Alexander County’s Sheriff’s Department, Taylorsville Police Department, Alexander County School System, Alexander County Probation Office.

Asthma — to improve the quality of life for all residents with Asthma in Alexander County

5 Year Objective: Reduce the rate of asthma related hospitalizations.

10 Year Objective: Decrease the number of school absences due to asthma related illnesses.

Community Partners: Alexander County School System, Alexander County Recreational Department.
