Alexander County Emergency Management
Alexander County Emergency Management is a division of Alexander County Emergency Services, with offices located at 621 Liledoun Road in the County Administration Building in Taylorsville. The Emergency Management Office is responsible for disaster planning, hazardous materials information and response to chemical spills, natural and manmade disasters, and ensuring that the Emergency Operations Center is capable of full operation at all times. Under federal regulations Emergency Management also receives information from local business and industry about hazardous materials which may be used or stored at local companies. Information programs to the public on issues such as individual and family disaster preparedness, severe weather and disaster planning are available upon request by calling 828-632-9336. Emergency Management is the lead agency of government responsible for the coordinated response of resources, such as emergency services, to all disasters. Emergency Management responds to all sorts of major emergencies twenty-four hours a day. This office is also responsible for writing and maintaining the county Multi Hazard Emergency Plan. The plan is under revision and is available for public inspection at the Emergency Management Office
