Message from the Director

The Department of Emergency Services was created to enhance emergency response to, planning for, and recovery from major emergencies that may occur in Alexander County.

Consolidated under one department are the Office of Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, Office of Fire Marshal, and County Safety Officer. Additionally; Emergency Services coordinates with the nine volunteer fire departments, one rescue squad, County Forest Ranger, and local Office of Red Cross.

Each of these agencies represents a dedicated group of professionals that work together well to provide the citizens of Alexander County a safe place to live and work. I personally am humbled and honored to be a part of this team.

Through training and exercises we will strive to continually improve our service. Through the efforts of our staff nothing seems impossible. They have proven themselves possessive of courageous strength and ability that perseveres in time of need.

I want to welcome you to our site and encourage you to visit again to see how we are growing. It is our goal to provide the most advanced level of service possible by maximizing our resources in a cost effective manner.
