| Description: : This position is responsible for the supervision of social workers and support staff that provide services in the areas of child protective services, foster care for children, foster home licensing, adoptions, child care coordination and service intake for the agency. Supervision includes orientation and training of new staff, in-service training of existing staff, assignment of responsibilities and cases, work performance evaluations, consultation, counseling and disciplining of staff. |
| Experience Required: Masters degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of social work or counseling experience; or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of social work and three years of social work or counseling experience; or a four-year degree in a human services field or related curriculum including at least 15 semester hours in courses related to social work or counseling and four years of social work or counseling; or graduation from a four-year college or university and five years of experience in rehabilitation counseling, pastoral counseling or a related human services field providing experience in the techniques of casework, group work, or community organization; or an equivalent combination training and experience. College transcript is required. No license or certification required by statute. |

| Experience Required: This position will serve as Branch Manager for the Bethlehem Library extension. Hours of work are: Monday’s and Wednesday’s from 8:30 until 2:00. Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 12:00 until 7:00. Duties and responsibilities will include collection maintenance and development, reader’s advisory and reference assistance. Determine Patron needs and provide direction to library materials and electronic resources. Will provide basic instruction, assistance and trouble shooting for computers and other equipment, analyze branch operations and recommend goals, preparation of annual budget, manage branch schedule, check timesheets and evaluate staff. Performs supervisory duties to library staff. Promotes the library through presentations to schools and civic groups. Coordinates the activities of the branch libraries for system wide balance. Responsible for recruiting and training library volunteers. |
| Experience Preferred: : Experience in a public library setting desirable or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Some supervisory experience preferred. |

| Title: Part-time Library Support Staff |

| Description: This position works Monday’s and Wednesday’s from 8:30-2:00 and Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 12:00 – 7:00. An employee in this class shelves books, reads and organizes shelves, and provides back up at circulation desk occasionally. Work involves training and supervising community service workers in shelving and categorizing books and materials. Work may include checking books or other media in and out; assisting patrons in locating books; issuing library cards, collecting fines. Work in a library may expose an employee to dusty atmospheric conditions and small-enclosed rooms and narrow aisles. Requires continuous climbing, bending, stooping and other basic life operational skills. Requires lifting approximately 20 lbs of force frequently and 50 lbs. of force occasionally. Work involves accuracy and significant public contact. Work requires employees to be tactful and courteous. Work is performed under regular supervision by the Library Director. Work is evaluated for customer service effectiveness and accuracy of work activities through daily observations, discussions and review of completed work. |
| Experience Required: Graduation from high school including or supplemented by courses in office practices and preferably some related clerical experience or experience working with the public. Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions. Must be able to perform up to 20 lbs. of force frequently and up to 10 lbs. of force constantly. |
| Experience Preferred: Prior knowledge of the Dewey Decimal Classification System; computer skills, Internet search skills; prior library training preferred. |
