What does WIC provide?

If you are eligible for WIC, you will receive at no cost:

Ø Vouchers to buy healthy foods

Ø Eating tips for you and your child

Ø Breastfeeding support

Ø Referrals to health care and community resources

What foods does WIC provide?

Ø Milk

Ø Juice

Ø Cheese

Ø Infant formula

Ø Eggs

Ø Cereal

Ø Dried beans and peas

Ø Peanut butter

Ø Infant cereal

Ø Tuna and carrots (breastfeeding women only)

Am I eligible for WIC?

WIC is for:

Ø Pregnant women

Ø Breastfeeding women who have had a baby in the last 12 months

Ø Women who have had a baby in the last six months

Ø Infants

Ø Children up to five years of age

To be eligible for WIC, you must also:

Ø Meet WIC income guidelines

Even if you have a job, you may be eligible. If you are on Work First Family Assistance, Medicaid, or in the Baby Love Program, you already meet the income guidelines

Ø Have a health risk factor based on:

o Height and weight

o Blood test for low iron

o Health history

o Diet history
