Position: PART-TIME Vehicle Registration Clerk (approx. 19 hours per week)
Salary Range: $10.99 - $15.16 (DOE)Posting Date: May 9, 2013 – May 16, 2013
Description of Work: Position performs clerical work in the processing of vehicle registrations, titles, and related documents for the County operated NC Division of Motor Vehicles. Position will be responsible for processing vehicle registration renewals, issuing renewal stickers, collecting and receipting renewal fees. Responsibilities include processing vehicle title work due to ownership changes and other reasons, determining amount due and collecting and receipting fees. Completes and notarizes documents as required by NCDMV. Provides assistance to public and handles telephone calls with respect to NCDMV rules and regulations. Produces required reports, balances cash drawer and prepares bank deposit daily. Position is part-time and is not eligible for benefits.
Education and Experience Required: Graduation from high school; 1-2 years experience in clerical procedures, including some experience in the operation of data entry or computer equipment; experience involving public contact; experience in a cashier or accounting position preferably in a public organization or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Position: Social Worker III (Adult Services)

Description of Work: To provide case management for and implement services for persons in need of the following services: Adult Home Specialist, Adult Day Care Coordinator, SA/IH, representative payee, guardianship, at-risk, housing/home improvement and adult protective services. Investigating alleged neglect or abuse reports in the area of Adult Protective Services; in-depth assessment of family dynamics and needs; advanced social work intervention with dysfunctional families to prevent or remedy abuse and neglect; providing testimony in court and maintaining required documentation in case records. Employee must be able to complete on a timely basis, the forms, reports, records, dictation, and court summaries necessary in the total delivery of job responsibility. Must have verbal and written communication skills to relate in a positive manner to clients, attorneys, judges and others; must have the ability to thoroughly and objectively gather information; must have capacity to remain calm in stressful situations. Requires the ability to work effectively in a teamwork setting and maintain a cooperative and effective working relationship with team members, community professionals and agency leaders.
Education and Experience Required: Master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work; Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and one year directly related experience; Master's degree in counseling in a human services field and one year of social work or counseling; Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience; Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of directly related experience. College transcript is required.

Position: Dentist II
Salary Grade: 91
Salary Range: $103,561 - $146,329

Description of Work: The primary purpose of this position is to provide a public health dentist to children 0-18 years old in Alexander County. The dentist will provide general dentistry treatment; policy development for public health dental issues; public health education/promotion of dental topics; and will help with access to dental treatment.
Education and Experience Required: Graduation from an accredited dental school and two years of experience in the practice of general dentistry. Must be licensed to practice dentistry in the State of NC.
