Children Support Services
The Children's Services Unit works to ensure safe, permanent, nurturing families for every child. This is accomplished by offering the following primary services:
Adoption Services
Adoption Services are designed to find permanent homes for children and provide support to the families who adopt them. Some foster children will never go back to their birth family. These children need permanent homes and a "forever family".
Child Placement Services
Child Placement Services are provided to children who cannot remain in their own home and need temporary homes, licensed to meet safety standards, and supervision while in care. Ongoing counseling is provided to help families reunite and stay together.
Child Protection Services
Child Protection Services are provided to protect children from abuse and neglect while attempting to preserve the family unit.
Foster Care Licensing
Foster Care Licensing involves the recruitment, training, and supervision of foster homes to assure safe and secure temporary care for children. Homes for children of all ages are needed.
